| Ukaegbu Ukaegbu was born to the family of late Chief Emmanuel Ukaegbu Akuma (Ogaukwu) and Mrs. Esther Ukaegbu of Emekwo Village, Amakpo, Igbere. He is the fourth in the family of nine. He (U. Ukaegbu) had most of his primary education at Danfodio Road Primary School Aba, where he passed the First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) examination in 1979. Same year, parental decision compelled him to attend Igbere Secondary School Igbere, to enable him assist his aged grandmother Madam Ori Akuma of blessed memory. |


| While at Igbere Secondary School, he headed the Science and Quiz Club of the school and represented the school at quiz competitions. Eventually, he was appointed Science Laboratory Assistant in his fourth year at the school. In 1984, he sat for and passed the West Africa School Certificate Examinations (WASC), O'Level and the General Certificate of Education (GCE). After high school, he took up his first career as a trader based in Ariaria Market, Aba. |
He was admitted into the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Calabar, Calabar, Nigeria (UNICAL), in 1989. He majored in Physics and Physical Sciences. At UNICAL, he participated in social activities including being a member of the DOLLAR CLUB EXCLUSIVE, UNICAL CHAPTER (a socio -philanthropic organization). He served the club in various capacities and eventually became the Chancellor (President) of the club. He loves logical reasoning games, especially “Draft”; and plays Table Tennis and Football (soccer) as well. Ukaegbu graduated in 1993 with a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Physics. Ukaegbu believes that his UNICAL capstone project titled “Solutions of Partial Differential Equations by Numerical Methods” was one of the major accomplishments that eventually shaped his computing career. Ukaegbu acquired additional computer training at Systemcare & Software School, Lagos where he obtained Diploma in Data Processing. Ukaegbu served Nigeria for one year under the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program. His place of primary service was at Jaroy Computer Education and Services Centre, Abeokuta, Ogun State where he functioned as Data Communication and Computer Electronics Instructor. This national service was completed in 1995. After his national service, Ukaegbu restarted his trading career which eventually led him to Asian and European countries. He founded SOLAK COMPUTER RESOURCES in 1997, a subsidiary of SOLAK INVESTMENTS LTD based in Nigeria and still operates as the firm’s Chief Technology Officer. Ukaegbu migrated to Europe in late 1997 where he resided in Germany and Holland. In 2000, he was admitted to Holland International Business School of Inholland University, Amsterdam, Netherlands, for a Bachelor of Business Administration and Applied Sciences degree. This programme continued at Davenport University, Grand Rapids, Michigan where he concentrated in Business Management and Information Systems and completed in 2003. At Davenport University, he took Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer courses. Thereafter, he moved to California, for an internship programme and utilized the period by taking Income Tax Preparation courses at H&R Block Inc. Ukaegbu is licensed by the United States Department of the Treasury and the State of California as Income Tax Preparer. In 2003, Ukaegbu established a computing and business services firm based in Los Angeles, California and known as Doser LLC (website: www.dosersis.com). In addition, he established Ukay Academy which delivers academic instruction via www.ukaegbu.com. He had worked for other corporations including Sears Holdings, Guard Systems, Inc., Guard Systems and Learning Support Systems, Inc. More so, in 2007, Ukaegbu studied at Computer & Information Systems Department of University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), majoring in Systems Analysis and Design. He became a Certified Systems Analyst in March 2008. Ukaegbu Ukaegbu who is a Physicist, Business Management Consultant, Software Developer, Web Builder, Certified Systems Analyst and Educator has demonstrated a commitment to advancing his knowledge and career through quality continuing education, which spans a wide range of disciplines and took place across the globe. He is motivated in life by the philosophy that states “the mastery of the art of learning, practice, perfection of skills and professionalism, have contributed immensely in shaping the lives of great people and the world”. This philosophy is his driving force as an Educator. In 2009, Ukaegbu obtained his Teaching Credential in Science from the "Commission on Teacher Credentialing" after graduating in the teacher education program at California State University, Dominguez Hills. More so, he holds a subject authorization in Mathematics. Ukaegbu is very passionate about teaching Physics, Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Computer and other allied courses. Some of his teaching videos are freely used as instructional material, visual aid, and as virtual teacher in schools across the world; and may be viewed on his YouTube Channel at www.youtube.com/ukaegbu24th. This is aimed at helping learners develop scientific concepts and acquire mathematical skill sets and at the same time apply the knowledge in a way that make sense to the learners. Ukaegbu’s professional membership and affiliations include: a) IEEE Computer Society; Website: www.ieee.org b) American Geophysical Union (AGU); Website: www.agu.org c) Association of Computing Machinery (ACM); Website: www.acm.org d) Institute of Management Accountants (IMA); Website: www.imanet.org In 2004/2005 fiscal year of IMA, Ukaegbu served as the Computer Seminar Director of San Gabriel Valley Chapter of Institute of Management Accountants. Furthermore, from 2005 to 2008, he served as Newsletter Director of the same chapter of IMA. He has contributed immensely to the socio-cultural development of Igbere as he believes in and advocates for giving back to the community. Ukaegbu was elected and served as the General Secretary of Old-Bende Cultural Union in Netherlands (2000 - 2002). He was one of the founding members of Igbere Academic Circle. This organization started the hosting of the annual football (soccer) competition among Igbere Autonomous Communities. He was elected the first General Secretary of Igbere Progressive Association International, Inc (IPAI). Ukaegbu was the Editor-In-Chief and publisher of Event Program Magazine for IPAI Convention 2009. The development and maintenance of the IPAI's web presence (www.ipaiinc.org) and his performance as the General Secretary of IPAI (2007 - 2011 session) are just a few of the series of examples of Ukaegbu’s commitment to facilitating the progress and development of his native home town Igbere. |
